Checking your credit report

A good credit vs bad credit is to being a homeowner vs being a non-homeowner. So if you looking towards making big purchases like a car or a home it is worth it to check your credit report and clean it up before purchasing and applying for financing. Since some discrepancies may arise between the reports of the three bureaus (see previous section) it is better to get your report from all three credit report bureaus.

Take advantage of the FACT Act and get a free credit report (limited to one a year). Goto AnnualCreditReport.com and see if you qualify. But it is a good idea to check your report at least twice or thrice a year to detect/protect yourself from identity theft and surprises.

The FTC advises monitoring your CREDIT REPORT activity ON ALL 3 BUREAUS. Order your 3-bureau report from CreditReporting.com today.
